The Prep School children benefit from excellent facilities and specialist teaching staff. All children use the Library as well as being taught Science in the Laboratory, I.C.T. in the Computer Suite, French in the Language Room, Drama in the Hall, P.E. and Games on site. Swimming takes place at the Endowed Schools' swimming pool which is located at the Grammar School (just 5 minutes walk from Fairfield). Examinations in Mathematics, English and Science take place in May every year with continual assessment throughout the year in all of the other academic subjects.

Homework is introduced from Year 3 onwards and details of this are recorded in homework diaries which the children bring home on a daily basis. As a result, this forms an important method of communication between parents and staff.
